Dreamdance Proudly Presents
Workshops and Performance with
Alexandra King

Don't miss this one-night-only performance showcase, starring the critically-acclaimed and award-winning Middle Eastern Dance artist, instructor, choreographer, and producer, Alexandra King.

Her lifelong career as a professional dancer began at age 10, inspired by a family of actors and musicians. Alexandra studied belly dance first with Diana Ferrari, and later with the legendary Jenaeni Rathor, Ansuya's mother. Alexandra's training includes ballet, Polynesian, jazz, tap, flamenco, Bharata Natyam, Greek and Middle Eastern folk and line dance, and intensive study of both traditional and modern styles of Oriental "belly" dance.

Alexandra has traveled extensively throughout North Africa and the Middle East to observe and study their dances. In 2001, she was appointed lecturer in the first-ever accredited ethnic dance class in the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) dance department. She travels throughout the United States teaching and performing, both independently and as the director of UCSB's Middle Eastern Dance Ensemble, Seher.

"Alexandra's enthusiasm, extensive knowledge of the dance forms and cultures, and obvious enjoyment of teaching combine to make one of the most enjoyable and exciting classes I've had!" - UCSB Student

Take a workshop with Alexandra King, recipient of the 2003 Best Instructor Award, by the International Academy of Middle Eastern Dance (IAMED).
